The current UMIA agreement incorporates all recent legislative changes; be sure you are using the agreement dated July 2004. If a patient has signed an older agreement you must update the agreement to be binding.

For obstetrical patients it is necessary to sign a new arbitration agreement with each pregnancy. Prior agreements will not cover any injury to a subsequent fetus or infant.
